Toto AP se vyznačuje spoustou pokročilých funkcí, stabilitou a speciální podpora pro outdoor long range nasazení - modulace pro spoje na dlouhé vzdálenosti.


Mezi výrobky této řady patří několik verzí včetně speciálních s outdoorovými šasí, které jsou založeny na osvědčeném RouterBoardu s procesorem ADM 5120, 4MB flash a 16MB pamět, obsahuje dva porty RJ45 a jeden miniPCI slot do kterého jsou variablině použity miniPCi karty s Atheros čipsety, podporuje i highpower 23dB karty

K zařízení jsou dostupné dvě řady originálního firmware - řada 1,5x single SSID'''' zaručující zpětnou kompatibilitu s WPE54AG v PtP a PtMP modech a firmware řady 3.x ''''multiSSID'''' (můžete vytvořit až 4 různá SSID na jednom AP a oddělit je do VLAN) s vylepšenou technologií pro PtP/PtMP spoje a funkcemi dle 802.11h

The Compex WP54G Wireless-G 54Mbps XR™ Managed Access Point is a high-performance AP that is designed for enterprise and public access application. Embedded with Atheros chipset, it boasts network robustness and stability and wider network coverage. Based on 802.11g, it has transfer speed 10X faster than 802.11b. WP54G supports high-speed data transmission of up to 54Mbps at 2.4GHz.

WP54G is capable of support operating in different modes such as Access Point Bridging, Access Point Client, Gateway, Wireless Bridge Link, Wireless Routing Client and Wireless Ethernet, which makes it suitable for a variety of wireless application and deployment. Network administrators can make use of the SNMP feature included in the web management for easy user management. Equipped with SMA antennas, WP54G provides a wider coverage for your network. An integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) allows WP54G to be used in areas where power outlets are not readily available.

To protect your security and privacy, WP54G is armed with many enhanced wireless security features such as Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), WPA2 (with Advanced Encryption Standard algorithm) MAC Address Filtering, IEEE 802.1x Authentication and 64/128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) to ensure privacy for the heterogeneous mix of users within the same wireless LAN, while maintaining full access to the establishment’s resources.

WP54G also incorporates unique features such as – the Parallel Broadband feature that allows bandwidth aggregation and fail-over redundancy capability. When set to gateway mode, it uses Wireless Distribution System (WDS) to wirelessly link all associated access point gateway together, Long-Range parameter settings provides WP54G with the ability to auto-calculate parameters such as slot time, ACK time-out and CTS time-out on the wireless device based on range requirements to achieve a longer range. Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) provides the wireless network with extra redundancy and reliability that the network will auto-reconfigure when there are changes to the network connections. Pseudo VLAN feature enables the creation of wireless isolated nodes or workgroups between wireless clients to increase network privacy in a wireless LAN installation.
